It's true when they say holding down a full time job, healthy lifestyle and an epic social life is hard work. It's exhausting! That's why I like to make the most of just relaxing and having an excuse to not stress about work or workouts. So when an old uni friend came to visit for Bank Holiday weekend, it was the perfect opportunity to unwind. The weekend started with dinner at Edin's Natural Kitchen in the Hockley Lace Market area of Nottingham. Edin's is a patisserie, bar and kitchen serving the most delicious food from fresh home cooked meals to naughty little baked treats. We shared a mixture of three starters including smoked salmon, goats cheese salad and a delicious antipasti accompanied by a glass of wine. After we were all ready, we headed back to the Lace Market for a little bar crawl. First up was Hockley Arts Club, an amazing bar located behind the main street in the Hockley area. With the bar being hidden behind other buildings, it's pretty weird walking up an alley way to such a unique venue. With three rooms to choose from, we only stuck to the ground floor bar where we got amazing themed cocktails before moving onto a couple more venues. Sunday was spent relaxing making brunch and delicious smoothies followed by a bit of spring clothes shopping, which I will feature in a haul in the near future. A quick catch up over a coffee in 200 degrees was definitely in order before taking a trip to the Savoy cinema in the Lenton area of Nottingham to see the new Jungle Book film.
