If you ask any of my family and friends I grew up with, they'll tell you that I always hated having my picture taken. I much preferred to be behind the camera rather than in front of it. However, as part of embracing an even newer me I decided to see what it was like to be on the other side of the lens.
So take that, a three day weekend at home and a sibling who is about to study photography at A level and you've got the perfect combination for a photoshoot. I never felt comfortable shooting people as I didn't feel like I could direct them in what to do. Hoping to avoid this happening with my brother, we decided to do a shoot where he got to practice photographing a person and I got to practice being the subject. Whilst achieving some great outfit shots for my blog in the process. After a delicious barbecue with my parents we headed out at golden hour to shoot against the sun setting behind the houses of the street I grew up on.
