What do you get when you combine some of the coolest action sports, hottest music and (hopefully) a sunny British weekend? Only one of the laid back and vibrant festivals you'll ever go to.
Boardmasters festival is an annual sport and music festival held on Newquay's famous beach, Fistral, and overlooking the ocean at Watergate Bay. The music part of the festival is held a few miles over the coast road atop of Watergate Bay. Over three days, the eight stages that adorn the cliff top see a myriad of artists and genres. So for those of you who grab tickets when they go on sale, you'll have access to not only these amazing artists, but a pretty cool funfair too. When the sun sets, festival goers can venture over to the beach for night time sessions and acoustic sets.
For those just looking to chill out and watch some surfing, then Fistral beach is the one for you. At this time of year, Fistral beach is transformed into a hive of activity, hosting the festivals surf, skate and bike competitions. The beach's carpark is also transformed into rows of little stalls selling unique clothes and accessories. When you've cheered on your favourite surfer and browsed some of the stalls, you can make your way to one of the food vans at the bottom of the car park or venture into the beach bar overlooking the waves. Oh, and the best of all, Fistral beach is completely free! So you get to enjoy the atmosphere and antics of the weekend without having to buy tickets.
The festival has the unique ability to combine both a vibrant and energetic atmosphere whilst making you still feel chilled out and relaxed. Which makes Boardmasters festival the perfect weekend to spend with pretty much anyone! Whether it be family or friends.
