I wish I could say I've been travelling the world and having epic adventures àla Indiana Jones style, but unless you count 5 days in Cornwall trying to escape the rain, then alas I must disappoint.
In reality, I took a break to focus on affairs of the job variety and didn't have the energy to go out and take photos (sounds really lazy when you put it like that...).
So I've given myself a metaphorical slap on the wrist and decided it was time I sat down and wrote something.
I've not been totally out of practice since my last post. Since May, the job I've been in has meant I've actually been writing for a different blog. I decided that I wanted to jump fully into that meaning, ultimately, I've neglected my own little corner of the internet.
However, we're getting back on it. So I'm sitting in Costa with a large americano (yep, the one with TWO handles) and ready to take on the keyboard.
I've realised that I've really missed blogging. Just sitting down and writing about something I was interested in. Whether that be a new item of clothing I was excited to style or simply my thoughts and musings.
I've also realised I get way too hung up on the numbers. During my break I was still posting on Instagram (albeit not as frequently) and I noticed the random increases then decreases of my followers.
For a time, I started to fixate on that and panic that I was losing too many. So I would hastily pick a photo to post, a random time to post it and there you go. But now, I feel like the voice I had throughout my feed has disappeared a little. I've been posting for the sake of it and not the content I was happy with.
So this needed to change ASAP!

My last couple of photos, I actually spent the time to edit in a way I was happy with and designed a theme I wanted that would freshen up my feed. And while I'm still battling serious CBA feelings that are all too real, I'm starting to get back into the swing of things.
So instead of focusing on the fact that during my absence I may have got a little behind on the blogging game, I'm focusing on channelling a lot more effort into my own personal content to make it the best it's ever been.
